We are looking for highly motivated, hard working members to join our team. We are looking for members who have training and experience. If you are looking to start your career in the fire service we want you to join our team as well.

Open Positions

  • We accept applications throughout the year. Interviews will be scheduled as openings exist. 
  • We are accepting applications for Fall of 2026 Interviews
  • Applicants must have their IFSAC/Pro Board Firefighter 1 at a minimum.
  • Applicant must have a valid CPAT at the time of their interview (within the previous year).

2026 JTG Part-Time Recruit Academy

We are hosting a part-time recruit academy. In the Pacific North-West the options for obtaining your firefighter certifications is becoming more and more difficult.

We are hosting a recruit academy that will be conducted two nights a week and every Saturday and some Sunday’s from October to January. At the completion of the academy you will be testing for your IFSAC Firefighter 1, Firefighter 2, Hazardous Materials Awareness and Hazardous Materials Operations. All of these are requirements to work full time and part time in most agencies in the state.

To attend this academy you can either be sponsored by another fire department or be self-sponsored. If you are self-sponsored you will need to provide your own learning materials, uniform items and PPE/SCBA. If you are sponsored, it will be determined by your agency what they will provide you with. Items needed will be outlined via email. For learning materials we will be using IFSTA Essentials of Firefighter 8th edition and Hazardous Materials for First Responders 6th edition.

The academy tuition is $3000 per student this does not include your academy uniform, PPE or SCBA. Once accepted to the academy, options will be provided as to where you can rent your PPE/SCBA.

  • IFSAC HAZMAT Awareness testing – Included in academy tuition
  • IFSAC HAZMAT Operations testing – Included in academy tuition

The 2026 Academy will be on Monday and Wednesday Nights from 6PM to 10 PM and Saturday’s and some Sunday’s from 8 AM to 5PM.

 The Academy will start on September 30th 2026

Applicants must be 18 years of age, have high school diploma or GED, valid drivers license, by the start of the academy and a current CPAT physical agility test with the last 365 days from August 15th 2026.

Part-Time Firefighter Requirements

We staff our station 24 hours a day 365 days a year with part-paid firefighter/emt’s. When working a shift at Station 68 not only will you be working as part of a great team you will be learning valuable life skills, and skills to help advance yourself in the fire service.

  • The signing bonus is based off of a contractual agreement between the member and the fire district.

 

There are four options for applicants:

Option A:

Already have your IFSAC FF1 & 2 and your WA State EMT?

You will start working right away and you are eligible for the $5,000 signing bonus.

Option B:

Already have your IFSAC Certifications but no EMT?

You can start working shifts on the engine right away and we will pay for your EMT class tuition.

Option C:

Have your EMT but no IFSAC certifications?

At this time we are not filling any EMT only positions. We recommend that you look into our recruit academy to obtain your IFSAC certification. Once you have obtained your IFSAC certifications you can apply for a part-time position with our organization.

Option D:

Have no training or experience?

If you have no IFSAC Certifications you will need to obtain your IFSAC Firefighter 1 and 2. This can be accomplished by attending a recruit academy. Please look at our recruit academy information for more details.
